Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness…

We’re there! Autumn has officially arrived - and with it, a whole new feeling in the home.

We love the changing colours of nature, and as the nights draw in and the greenery all around us turns rusty, we can easily bring that cosy feeling indoors and transform our interiors to reflect those crisp brown leaves and bright blue skies.

A change of paint is a great way to revamp a room. Moving to more earthy, natural tones can really change the way all the items within a space interact. We are loving the fantastic candles, pampas grass arrangements and wreathes popping up all over Instagram, and if you don’t want to completely overhaul a room, adding new accessories such as these, and painting a feature wall, can be a great easy way to refresh it for the new season.

Autumn can mean wet windy days and damp, darker evenings - so it’s the perfect time to cosy up and embrace darker colours. Our Between the Stars paint is inspired by night skies: the rich inky grey will provide a sumptuous and comforting feeling.

It offers the perfect backdrop to a room which can then have furnishings and accessories that reflect the natural colours of this time of year - wooden furniture, dried flowers and grasses and tactile orange fabrics. Perfect for lazy Autumn evenings watching the rain!

Those natural woods, glowing lights and orange fabrics also work well with lighter walls, which can help if the weather outside is really grim – our Morning Porridge is an oaty, optimistic, light beige paint that will lift you in the mornings and reflect the cooler sunrises.

With Bonfire Night and Halloween beckoning, you could also consider dark muddy greens and rich deep reds if you would rather be a bit more bold. All of these lovely colours will echo the tones of the season, creating a calm and meditative atmosphere as Summer steps aside.
